Texas Pick 3 & Daily 4 Fireball
The Texas Lottery Fireball is an optional feature that you can add on to your Pick 3 or Daily 4 tickets to give you extra chances to win. A Fireball number from 0 to 9 is randomly selected after every Texas Pick 3 and Daily 4 drawing. Use the Fireball number to replace any of the numbers drawn for more ways to make a winning set.

How Fireball Works
The sheer number of extra winning combinations that Fireball creates can make it appear complicated, but it couldn’t be simpler to add and it makes it easier to take home a prize. Here’s exactly how it works:
- Select your numbers for Pick 3 or Daily 4 as normal, along with your play type and amount.
- To add Fireball, mark "Yes" in the box on your playslip. Fireball doubles the cost of your play, so a $0.50 play would cost $1 with Fireball, and a $1 play would cost $2.
- A Fireball number from 0 to 9 is drawn after each Pick 3 and Daily 4 drawing. This is its own separate draw.
- Replace any of the winning numbers that were drawn with the Fireball number. If you can create a winning combination, you get the corresponding prize.
- You can win on the base game, on Fireball, or even both.
Pick 3 Fireball
In Pick 3, the Fireball feature gives you extra ways to win regardless of your play style – Exact Order, Any Order, Exact/Any Order, or Combo. The odds also depend on which numbers you play, but they could be as good as 1 in 69. The following example shows how:
- Your Pick 3 numbers: 567
- Play type: Any Order
- Pick 3 numbers drawn: 057
- Fireball number drawn: 6
In this example, the Fireball of 6 can be used to replace the 0 that was selected in the draw, to create the winning combination 657. This is a win because you have wagered on the numbers 567 being drawn in any order. The prize is $15 for a $1 play, or $30 for a $2 play. If you hadn’t added Fireball, you would not have won a prize because you only matched two of the three numbers.
It’s also possible to get more than one win at a time with Fireball. Here’s another example, again imagining you picked the same numbers.
- Your Pick 3 numbers: 567
- Play type: Any Order
- Pick 3 numbers drawn: 556
- Fireball number drawn: 7
In this example, the Fireball of 7 can be used to replace either of the 5s that have been drawn, creating two winning combinations – 756 and 576. The odds of this happening are longer, at 1 in 556 compared to 1 in 69 for the previous example, but the prize would be doubled. Two wins for a $1 play here would pay out $30, or you would receive $60 for a $2 play.
Daily 4 Fireball
In Daily 4, there are even more play styles to choose from – Straight, Box, Straight/Box, Combo or Pair. By adding Fireball, you can boost your chances of winning a prize. For example, if you select a Straight play (Exact Order), this is how the Fireball could help you to win:
- Your Daily 4 numbers: 2468
- Play type: Straight
- Daily 4 numbers drawn: 2498
- Fireball number drawn: 6
Here the Fireball of 6 would replace the drawn number of 9 to give you a winning combination of 2468, worth $675 for a $1 play or $1,350 for a $2 play. If you hadn’t added Fireball, you would not have matched all four numbers in order and would have received nothing.
Depending on the combination of numbers you select and what happens in the draw, it’s also possible to get multiple wins with a single play. Check out the example below:
- Your Daily 4 numbers: 3779
- Play type: Straight
- Daily 4 numbers drawn: 3779
- Fireball number drawn: 7
You’ve matched all the numbers even without the Fireball in this example, so you would have won a prize if you hadn’t added it. But the Fireball of 7 here can be used to replace either of the 7s that appeared in the draw, giving you two winning combinations. This gives you a payout of $1,350 for a $1 play, or $2,700 for a $2 play.

What is Fireball?
Fireball is an add-on feature that can be applied to Pick 3 or Daily 4 in Texas. A Fireball number between 0 and 9 is drawn right after the Pick 3 and Daily 4 drawings. It can be used to replace any of the numbers that have been selected in the draw, in order to create winning combinations.
How do I play?
You just need to mark the Fireball option on your playslip. You don't need to select any extra numbers.
How much does it cost?
Fireball doubles the cost of a play. If you choose to wager $0.50, Fireball doubles the cost to $1. A $1 play becomes $2.

What happened to Sum it Up?
Fireball replaced Sum it Up, a previous feature of Daily 4 where you could win if the sum of your numbers was the same as the sum of the winning numbers.
